Baladi

Baladi is the Saudi municipal e-services platform used to apply for and manage municipality (baladiya) licences for shops, restaurants, signage, and other commercial premises.

Baladi (also written Balady) is the unified electronic platform of Saudi Arabia's municipalities, operated under the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing. Businesses use it to obtain and renew the municipal licences that a commercial premises needs to operate, including shop and activity licences, signage permits, and related approvals.

A valid Baladi licence typically sits alongside the commercial registration (CR) and is checked when opening or continuing a physical business, so a missing or expired municipal licence can stop a shop from trading lawfully. Applications, renewals, and inspections are handled through the Baladi portal and app.

Requirements differ by city, activity, and premises type, so the specific documents and conditions should be confirmed for the relevant municipality.
