DEWA
UAEDEWA is the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the utility provider that supplies electricity and water in Dubai and handles connection, billing, and account transfer for homes and businesses.

e-Channel (UAE Immigration System)
UAEe-Channel is the UAE's online immigration platform that lets companies and establishments apply for and manage entry permits, residence visas, and related services electronically, typically requiring an active establishment registration and deposit.
Ejari
UAEEjari is Dubai's official system for registering residential and commercial tenancy contracts, producing a certificate required for visas, DEWA connections, and dispute resolution.
Emirates ID
UAEThe Emirates ID is the mandatory national identity card for every UAE citizen and resident, issued by the ICP and required for almost every government and many private transactions.
End-of-Service Gratuity
Cross-GCCEnd-of-service gratuity is a lump-sum payment that GCC labour laws require employers to pay an employee when their employment ends, calculated mainly from final salary and length of service.
Entry Permit
UAEA UAE entry permit is a short-term authorisation that allows a foreign national to enter the country to complete a longer process, most often before a residence visa is stamped. It is the first step in many employment and family-sponsorship journeys.
Establishment Card
UAEAn establishment card is the UAE immigration card that registers a company with the immigration authorities and allows it to sponsor employees' entry permits and residence visas; it must be kept valid for visa processing to continue.
Exit Re-entry Visa
Saudi ArabiaAn exit re-entry visa lets a sponsored resident of Saudi Arabia travel abroad and return within a set period while keeping their Iqama and residency valid.

Family Sponsorship

Final Exit Visa

Flexi Permit

Golden Visa
UAEThe UAE Golden Visa is a long-term, self-sponsored residence visa, commonly valid for five or ten years, granted to investors, entrepreneurs, skilled professionals, and other qualifying categories. It lets holders live, work, and sponsor family without a traditional employer sponsor.
GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance)

Green Visa

Hayya
QatarHayya is Qatar's official digital ID and entry platform, originally created for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and now used to issue Hayya cards that support entry permits, visit access, and certain in-country services.
Huroob (Absconding Report)
Saudi ArabiaHuroob is a report filed by a Saudi employer declaring that a sponsored worker has absconded or stopped reporting to work, which makes the worker's residency status irregular and can lead to fines, detention, or deportation.

ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security)
UAEICP is the UAE federal authority that handles identity, citizenship, residency, and border control nationwide, and is the body that issues the Emirates ID and manages entry permits and residence visas in most emirates outside Dubai's own GDRFA system.
ILOE (Involuntary Loss of Employment Insurance)
UAEILOE is the UAE's mandatory Involuntary Loss of Employment insurance scheme, under which most private-sector and federal-government employees pay a small monthly premium to receive temporary cash support if they lose their job through no fault of their own.
Invest Easy
OmanInvest Easy is Oman's official online portal for business registration and commercial services, run by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. It lets investors register companies and manage commercial registrations and related approvals online.
Iqama
Saudi ArabiaThe Iqama is the Saudi residence permit that lets a foreign worker and their dependents live legally in Saudi Arabia, tied to a sponsoring employer and renewed annually.

Labour Ban
UAEA UAE labour ban is a restriction imposed by MOHRE that temporarily prevents a worker from taking up new employment in the country after leaving a job under certain conditions. Bans can vary in length and some can be lifted or avoided.
Labour Card
UAEA UAE labour card is the document issued by MOHRE that records an employee's registered job, employer, and labour contract in the private sector. It confirms that a worker is legally employed and linked to a specific company.
LMRA (Labour Market Regulatory Authority)
BahrainThe LMRA is Bahrain's Labour Market Regulatory Authority, the body that issues and regulates work permits for expatriate workers. It runs the systems employers use to apply for, renew, and cancel work visas in Bahrain.

Medical Fitness Test
UAEThe UAE medical fitness test is a mandatory health screening that residence-visa applicants must pass before their visa is issued. It typically includes a blood test and chest X-ray to check for specified communicable diseases.

NOC (No Objection Certificate)
Cross-GCCA No Objection Certificate (NOC) is a formal letter from an employer, sponsor, or authority stating they do not object to a specific action, such as changing jobs, traveling, or processing a government transaction.
NPRA (Nationality, Passports & Residence Affairs)
BahrainThe NPRA is Bahrain's Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs directorate, part of the Ministry of Interior. It handles citizenship, passports, visas, and residence-permit matters for citizens and expatriates.

Oman Resident Card

Overstay

Power of Attorney (Wakala)
Cross-GCCA Power of Attorney (Wakala) is a notarized legal document that authorizes another person to act on your behalf for specified matters, such as government, property, or banking transactions.
Profession Change (Tagheer Mehna)
Saudi ArabiaProfession change, known in Arabic as tagheer mehna, is the process of correcting or updating the job title recorded on a worker's Iqama in Saudi Arabia so it matches their actual role.

Qatar ID (QID)

Tenancy Contract
Cross-GCCA tenancy contract is the legal rental agreement between a landlord and tenant for residential or commercial property. In much of the GCC it must be registered with a government system and is often required for visas, utilities, and dispute resolution.

Visa Stamping
UAEVisa stamping is the final step in the UAE residence process, where the approved residence visa is recorded against the holder's passport and immigration file. Today it is largely digital, replacing the old physical passport sticker.
Visa Status Change
UAEA visa status change is the process of switching from one UAE visa type to another from inside the country, without leaving and re-entering. It is most commonly used to convert a visit or tourist visa into an employment or family residence visa.
