Huroob (Absconding Report)

Huroob is a report filed by a Saudi employer declaring that a sponsored worker has absconded or stopped reporting to work, which makes the worker's residency status irregular and can lead to fines, detention, or deportation.

Huroob (from the Arabic for 'fleeing'), often called an absconding report, is a notice an employer can register against a sponsored expatriate to state that the worker has left the job without authorization. Once filed, the worker is treated as having an irregular status, which typically blocks government transactions and exposes them to penalties.

The consequences can include fines, arrest, deportation, and a future ban on returning to work in the Kingdom. A worker who believes a Huroob was filed unfairly can usually contest it through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development within a defined window, but timelines and the process for removal can change.

Because outcomes depend heavily on the individual case and current regulations, anyone facing a Huroob should verify the exact contest period, evidence requirements, and any associated fees through MHRSD or qualified assistance rather than assuming a fixed rule.
