A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), known in several GCC countries as a Good Conduct Certificate, is an official statement from a police or interior authority about whether an individual has a recorded criminal history. It is requested for purposes such as specific employment categories, professional licensing, certain residence and family applications, and immigration to other countries.
A PCC can usually be obtained from the country where the applicant currently lives and, in many cases, from countries where they previously resided, which may require fingerprints or biometric verification. Several GCC states now issue the certificate through online portals or apps, and it often has a limited validity window after issue.
Because who needs a PCC, how to apply from inside or outside the country, and how long it stays valid all vary by jurisdiction, the current procedure should be confirmed with the relevant authority.
