Kuwait Driving Test Questions PDF (MCQ)

Kuwait's theory paper is short - 20 questions at a reported 18/20 pass mark - so one weak topic fails you outright. This pack has 23 full papers to find that topic.

Why this pack for Kuwait

  • The reported 18/20 pass mark leaves room for two mistakes across the whole paper, so breadth matters more than depth.
  • Each test-centre visit is reported at KWD 12 (KWD 5 admin plus KWD 7 practical) with no stated attempt limit, but the KD 600 salary and residency gate stops more people than the test does.
  • 23 exam-length papers, the most of any pack, because the paper is short and repetition is what works.

Three questions from the pack

Exactly as they appear. Answer one and see the reason. Every one of the 481 questions is written to this standard.

Q1

What does this sign mean?

Q2

Pick an answer to see the reason.

Q3

What is the maximum speed permitted where this sign is displayed?

A red circle with the number 40 in black in the centre

Pick an answer to see the reason.

The rest describe the sign in words. Read the note below.

The honest weak spot. The real test shows signs as pictures. This bank pictures 15 distinct signs, and its printable sheet carries those 15, not MOI Kuwait's full catalogue. If signs are your weak area, learn them from the official handbook as well; the rules, priority and penalties questions are where this pack is strongest.

Which language do you want it in?

The pack is the same questions in every language. Pick the one you want and that is the PDF you get.

General Traffic Department (MOI) sets the real paper in English. So this pack is in the language you will actually sit the test in.

What is inside

01

Exam briefing

What General Traffic Department (MOI) actually sets: question count, pass mark, time limit, languages and how booking works.

02

Road-sign reference sheet

The 15 signs pictured in the bank on one printable page, captions separated so you can test yourself. It is not the authority's full sign catalogue - see what the bank covers, below.

03

23 exam-length papers

Each paper is 20 questions, the real length, with a topic mix that matches the live paper rather than running all the signs first.

04

Marked answer key

The correct answer, why it is correct, and the rule it comes from - for every question, not a letter grid.

05

The questions people get wrong

The hardest items in the bank, marked and explained. The section to read the night before.

06

Topic revision bank

Everything not used in a paper, grouped by topic, answers marked - for fixing one weak area.

The shortest paper in the Gulf

Kuwait's theory test is reported as 20 questions with 18 correct needed to pass, a 90% pass mark (kuwaitlocal.com, May 2026, and autoviatest.com; no Ministry of Interior page publishes the format). It is the shortest paper of the six GCC tests, and that cuts both ways: it is quick to sit, but two wrong answers is all the margin you get. The time limit is not confirmed; our mocks allow 20 minutes, a minute a question.

With only twenty questions the bank cannot afford filler, so signs and right of way dominate and the easy general-knowledge items that pad a 40-question paper are largely absent.

Every figure on this page is dated and sourced. Where third-party sites disagree - and on these tests they disagree constantly - we say so rather than picking the number that suits us. Confirm against the authority before you pay.

Car, motorcycle or truck - why it is one pack and not three

The Kuwait Driving Theory Test is mostly the same exam whoever you are. Of the 481 questions in this bank, 341 are the shared road-signs and rules material every candidate sits - signs, right of way, traffic rules, penalties and safety. Only 70 are motorcycle-specific and 70 are heavy-vehicle specific.

That is why we do not sell a motorcycle pack or a truck pack separately. A 70-question motorcycle-only product would leave you unprepared for the 341 questions that make up most of the paper you will actually sit, and selling you that would be taking your money for something designed to fail you.

One pack, all three tracks. If you are riding, the motorcycle paper is your supplement and the rest is your exam. If you are going for a truck or bus licence, the same applies in reverse.

What is in the Kuwait pack

481 questions as printable papers with separate answer sections, sized to the reported 20-question exam - which means a lot of short papers rather than a few long ones, and that suits the format. Light vehicle, motorcycle and truck-and-bus all included, with an explanation on every answer.

What a fail actually costs

Per attempt
KWD 12 per test-centre visit (KWD 5 administrative fee plus KWD 7 practical test fee)
If you fail
Kuwait is the exception worth knowing about: the theory paper is not repeated on a retest visit, so you do not pay the theory fee again. You pay the KWD 12 visit fee and resit the part you failed.

They are not the official Kuwait exam and the real question bank, format, fees and pass mark are set by the General Traffic Department (Ministry of Interior), and can change. Always confirm the current requirements with your driving school or the traffic department.

Frequently asked

481 questions, every one with the correct answer, an explanation and the rule it comes from. They are arranged as 23 exam-length papers of 20 questions each, plus a topic-by-topic revision bank for everything left over.

No, and you should be wary of anyone who claims to sell one. General Traffic Department (MOI) does not publish its live bank. These are original practice questions written from the published traffic rules and the standard GCC road signs, which is how every legitimate practice resource works. The format, pass mark and fees are set by General Traffic Department (MOI) and can change - confirm before you book.

The practice tests at /driving-test/kuwait are free, complete and stay that way. The pack is the offline version: one printable document with exam-length papers, a marked answer key you can read away from a screen, a road-sign sheet you can pin up, and a revision bank grouped by topic. If you revise on paper, or you want to work without data, that is what you are paying for.

18 of 20 correct, which is 90%. You get about 20 minutes. Every paper in the pack is marked against that same threshold, so a score in the pack means the same thing as a score in the test.

Pick the language on this page and that is the PDF you get: English, Arabic. General Traffic Department (MOI) sets the written paper in English, Arabic, so the pack is in the language you will actually sit the test in. The options available are set by General Traffic Department (MOI) and by your test centre - confirm when you book.

Card checkout is not live yet. Ask for the pack through the contact form or email info@wathim.com and we will send it to you directly, usually the same day. The price is AED 39.

20 questions, with 18 correct needed to pass: a 90% pass mark. That is the format reported by kuwaitlocal.com (May 2026) and autoviatest.com; no Ministry of Interior page publishes it, and the time limit is not confirmed, so our mocks allow 20 minutes. It is the shortest paper of the six GCC tests.

No, and this is specific to Kuwait. The theory paper is not repeated on a retest visit. You pay the KWD 12 visit fee - KWD 5 administrative plus KWD 7 practical - and resit the part you failed.

KWD 12 per visit to the test centre, whether it is your first attempt or a retest. Figures of KD 150-300 that appear online are totals including driving school, not the test-centre fee.

On the reported format, yes. 18 out of 20 is the pass, so a third mistake fails you. That is a 90% pass mark, which is why sign recognition needs to be automatic rather than worked out in the room.

Same bank, different format - the free tests are timed and marked on screen, the pack is the whole bank printable with explanations.

Yes, one paper each alongside the light-vehicle papers.

No. The General Traffic Department does not publish its bank. These match the reported format and the syllabus.

What it is built from
4 of our own published guides on this topic, plus 2 outside sources listed below with what each one was used for.
When it was last checked
July 2026. Every figure carries its own date and source.

Being straight with you

  • We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. Where a case needs one, the pack says so and says at what point.
  • We are not a government authority and have no influence over one. Nothing in here changes a decision that has already been made. It tells you which door the decision came from and what that door accepts.
  • Checking your own status is free. The official portals are linked throughout and they cost nothing. What you are paying for is knowing what to do with the answer, not access to it.
  • GCC fees and thresholds move without notice. Everything here is dated and attributed so you can tell how old it is. Confirm the current figure with the authority before you pay anything.
  • If a figure is wrong, tell us. Send it through and we will check it against the authority and correct the pack. Your download link always serves the current version, so a correction reaches you without you asking.

Where these figures come from

No GCC traffic authority publishes a fee schedule or a question bank you can check, so every number on this page is sourced to where we found it and dated. Where we could not source one, the row says so rather than repeating a figure from a site that cannot source it either.

  1. kuwaitlocal.com, October 2026

Used for: the KWD 12 per-visit fee, its split into KWD 5 administrative and KWD 7 practical, and the rule that the theory paper is not repeated on a retest visit

  2. kuwaitlocal.com, May 2026, and autoviatest.com, October 2026

Used for: the reported format: 20 questions, 18 correct to pass (90%). No Ministry of Interior publication of the format was found, and the 20-minute limit is our conservative choice rather than a confirmed figure
