Metrash2 is the smartphone application of the Qatari Ministry of Interior (MOI). It gives residents and citizens a single mobile channel for a wide range of official transactions, including checking and renewing the Qatar ID (QID) and residence permit, paying traffic fines, managing dependents and household staff, and applying for many travel and visa-related services.
To use Metrash2 you register with your QID and a Qatari mobile number, and the app then ties notifications and approvals to that number. It is widely used because it removes the need to visit a service centre for routine steps, and many MOI processes default to confirming or paying through the app.
For expatriates, Metrash2 is often the fastest place to verify residence-permit status, confirm a renewal, or check whether a transaction initiated by a sponsor has been completed. Always confirm exact fees and available services inside the app, as they are updated periodically.
