RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI)
RAK Traffic Theory Test Questions PDF
RAK Traffic works to the federal knowledge standard but publishes no fee table of its own. The questions are the part you can prepare against with confidence.
One edition for four emirates. Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain are all served through the federal Ministry of Interior platform rather than their own transport authority, so they share one Northern Emirates edition of the pack. Dubai (RTA), Abu Dhabi (Integrated Transport Centre) and Sharjah (SRTA) each run their own, and get their own edition.

What is riding on this test
This pack costs AED 39. A fail costs the fee again and the wait to rebook — what a fail actually costs.
Why this pack for Ras Al Khaimah
- RAK is one of the cheaper emirates to license in, which makes a first-time pass the whole saving.
- Your residence visa emirate decides where you can test - RAK will not license a Dubai-visa holder.
- Ask your institute the seven local questions in our northern-emirates guide before you pay anything.
Three questions from the pack
Exactly as they appear. Answer one and see the reason. Every one of the 609 questions is written to this standard.
What does this sign mean?
Pick an answer to see the reason.
What must you do when you see this sign?
Pick an answer to see the reason.
You see this sign on the road. What does it tell you?

The traffic rule or sign standard the answer comes from, not just a letter.
- 33 of 90Sign questions with a picture
The rest describe the sign in words. Read the note below.
The honest weak spot. The real test shows signs as pictures. This bank pictures 21 distinct signs, and its printable sheet carries those 21, not RAK Traffic's full catalogue. If signs are your weak area, learn them from the official handbook as well; the rules, priority and penalties questions are where this pack is strongest.
Which language do you want it in?
The pack is the same questions in every language. Pick the one you want and that is the PDF you get.
RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI) sets the real paper in English. So this pack is in the language you will actually sit the test in.

What RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI) actually sets: question count, pass mark, time limit, languages and how booking works.
Road-sign reference sheet
The 21 signs pictured in the bank on one printable page, captions separated so you can test yourself. It is not the authority's full sign catalogue - see what the bank covers, below.
13 exam-length papers
Each paper is 40 questions, the real length, with a topic mix that matches the live paper rather than running all the signs first.
Marked answer key
The correct answer, why it is correct, and the rule it comes from - for every question, not a letter grid.
The questions people get wrong
The hardest items in the bank, marked and explained. The section to read the night before.
Topic revision bank
Everything not used in a paper, grouped by topic, answers marked - for fixing one weak area.
Car, motorcycle or truck - why it is one pack and not three
The RTA Theory (Knowledge) Test is mostly the same exam whoever you are. Of the 609 questions in this bank, 469 are the shared road-signs and rules material every candidate sits - signs, right of way, traffic rules, penalties and safety. Only 70 are motorcycle-specific and 70 are heavy-vehicle specific.
That is why we do not sell a motorcycle pack or a truck pack separately. A 70-question motorcycle-only product would leave you unprepared for the 469 questions that make up most of the paper you will actually sit, and selling you that would be taking your money for something designed to fail you.
One pack, all three tracks. If you are riding, the motorcycle paper is your supplement and the rest is your exam. If you are going for a truck or bus licence, the same applies in reverse.
What is in the Northern Emirates pack
609 questions as 13 printable papers: eleven light-vehicle papers at the real 40-question length, one motorcycle, one truck and bus. Every answer carries an explanation, and each paper has its own answer section so you are not reading the answer while doing the question.
It is the federal bank, because the federal paper is what you will sit in Ras Al Khaimah.
What a fail actually costs
- Per attempt
- Fees in the northern emirates are set locally and are not published in one place
- If you fail
- The fee again, and a rebooking. Because the northern emirates run through the federal Ministry of Interior platform rather than their own transport authority, the practical constraint is usually test-centre availability rather than cost.
- Source
- No reliable published figure found for Ras Al Khaimah as at October 2026
- Where sources disagree
- We are not quoting a number we cannot source. Ask your centre - that is the only figure that will be right on the day.

These are original practice questions for study only, written from the public RTA handbook and UAE traffic rules. They are not the official exam questions and Wathim is not affiliated with the RTA, ITC, SRTA or any UAE government body. Test format, question count and pass mark can change and vary by emirate, so always confirm the current requirements with the licensing authority before your real test.
Frequently asked
609 questions, every one with the correct answer, an explanation and the rule it comes from. They are arranged as 13 exam-length papers of 40 questions each, plus a topic-by-topic revision bank for everything left over.
No, and you should be wary of anyone who claims to sell one. RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI) does not publish its live bank. These are original practice questions written from the published traffic rules and the standard GCC road signs, which is how every legitimate practice resource works. The format, pass mark and fees are set by RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI) and can change - confirm before you book.
The practice tests at /driving-test/uae/ras-al-khaimah are free, complete and stay that way. The pack is the offline version: one printable document with exam-length papers, a marked answer key you can read away from a screen, a road-sign sheet you can pin up, and a revision bank grouped by topic. If you revise on paper, or you want to work without data, that is what you are paying for.
30 of 40 correct, which is 75%. You get about 30 minutes. Every paper in the pack is marked against that same threshold, so a score in the pack means the same thing as a score in the test.
Pick the language on this page and that is the PDF you get: English, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam. Note that RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI) sets the written paper only in English and Arabic. Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam are offered as an interpreter reading the questions aloud in the test centre, so a pack in those languages helps you revise but is not the language you will read on the day. The options available are set by RAK Traffic Department (federal MOI) and by your test centre - confirm when you book.
Card checkout is not live yet. Ask for the pack through the contact form or email info@wathim.com and we will send it to you directly, usually the same day. The price is AED 39.
No. Ras Al Khaimah is served through the federal Ministry of Interior platform, as are Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain. The paper is the federal one - 40 questions, 30 to pass, 30 minutes. There is no separate RAK theory syllabus.
Because it is the same test, run by the same federal authority. We share one Northern Emirates document across the four pages rather than generating four near-identical PDFs and selling them as separate products. The pages differ because the local steps differ; the question bank does not.
We have not found a figure we can source for Ras Al Khaimah specifically, so we are not quoting one. Fees in the northern emirates are set locally and not published centrally. Your test centre will tell you, and that is the number that will be right.
Yes. A UAE licence is federal and valid in all seven emirates once issued. What does not move between emirates is a part-finished file.
Often, yes - total licence costs including lessons are generally lower than Dubai or Abu Dhabi, which is why people travel for it. The trade-off is test-centre availability and travel time. The theory paper itself is identical.
Yes - one motorcycle paper and one truck and bus paper alongside the eleven light-vehicle papers.
No, and nobody can honestly sell you those - the federal bank is not published. These match the format, pass mark and syllabus.

Who made this, and what it is not
- Who wrote it
- The Wathim GCC Services Desk, the same desk that files these cases for clients.
- What it is built from
- 4 of our own published guides on this topic, plus 2 outside sources listed below with what each one was used for.
- When it was last checked
- July 2026. Every figure carries its own date and source.
Being straight with you
- We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. Where a case needs one, the pack says so and says at what point.
- We are not a government authority and have no influence over one. Nothing in here changes a decision that has already been made. It tells you which door the decision came from and what that door accepts.
- Checking your own status is free. The official portals are linked throughout and they cost nothing. What you are paying for is knowing what to do with the answer, not access to it.
- GCC fees and thresholds move without notice. Everything here is dated and attributed so you can tell how old it is. Confirm the current figure with the authority before you pay anything.
- If a figure is wrong, tell us. Send it through and we will check it against the authority and correct the pack. Your download link always serves the current version, so a correction reaches you without you asking.
Where these figures come from
No GCC traffic authority publishes a fee schedule or a question bank you can check, so every number on this page is sourced to where we found it and dated. Where we could not source one, the row says so rather than repeating a figure from a site that cannot source it either.

Other United Arab Emirates authorities
You must sit the test in the emirate that will issue your licence. If that is not Ras Al Khaimah, the pack for the right authority is here.
