Abu Dhabi ITC Theory Test Questions PDF

Abu Dhabi runs the knowledge test through ITC-approved institutes, and a certificate of readiness gates the road test. The theory paper is the first filter.

Why this pack for Abu Dhabi

  • Abu Dhabi issues a certificate of readiness only after the theory and simulator stages, so the knowledge test comes first.
  • Yas Driving Academy pricing from AED 1,386.50 covers theory and simulator only - road hours bill separately, which is why a first-time theory pass matters financially.
  • The federal question standard is shared with Dubai, so the same bank applies with ITC framing.

Three questions from the pack

Exactly as they appear. Answer one and see the reason. Every one of the 609 questions is written to this standard.

Q2

Q3

You see this sign on the road. What does it tell you?

A red circle with the number 80 in black in the centre

Pick an answer to see the reason.

    Sign questions with a picture

The rest describe the sign in words. Read the note below.

The honest weak spot. The real test shows signs as pictures. This bank pictures 21 distinct signs, and its printable sheet carries those 21, not ITC Abu Dhabi's full catalogue. If signs are your weak area, learn them from the official handbook as well; the rules, priority and penalties questions are where this pack is strongest.

Which language do you want it in?

The pack is the same questions in every language. Pick the one you want and that is the PDF you get.

Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre sets the real paper in English. So this pack is in the language you will actually sit the test in.

What is inside

01

Exam briefing

What Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre actually sets: question count, pass mark, time limit, languages and how booking works.

02

Road-sign reference sheet

The 21 signs pictured in the bank on one printable page, captions separated so you can test yourself. It is not the authority's full sign catalogue - see what the bank covers, below.

03

13 exam-length papers

Each paper is 40 questions, the real length, with a topic mix that matches the live paper rather than running all the signs first.

04

Marked answer key

The correct answer, why it is correct, and the rule it comes from - for every question, not a letter grid.

05

The questions people get wrong

The hardest items in the bank, marked and explained. The section to read the night before.

06

Topic revision bank

Everything not used in a paper, grouped by topic, answers marked - for fixing one weak area.

The Abu Dhabi paper

40 questions in 30 minutes, 30 correct to pass. The federal format is the same one Dubai uses - what differs is the authority you deal with. Abu Dhabi licensing runs through the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), and your file, your booking and your test centre all sit with them rather than the RTA.

That distinction catches people who moved from Dubai mid-process. A knowledge test passed under the RTA is not automatically a pass on an ITC file, and the two authorities do not share a booking system.

Third-party sites do not agree on this test's format. Published figures for the Dubai paper alone include 23 out of 35, 24 out of 35 and 30 out of 40, and quoted fees run from AED 50 to AED 220. We publish one figure, say where it came from, and date it. Confirm it against the authority before you pay, because we would rather you checked than trusted us blindly on a number that moves.

Car, motorcycle or truck - why it is one pack and not three

The RTA Theory (Knowledge) Test is mostly the same exam whoever you are. Of the 609 questions in this bank, 469 are the shared road-signs and rules material every candidate sits - signs, right of way, traffic rules, penalties and safety. Only 70 are motorcycle-specific and 70 are heavy-vehicle specific.

That is why we do not sell a motorcycle pack or a truck pack separately. A 70-question motorcycle-only product would leave you unprepared for the 469 questions that make up most of the paper you will actually sit, and selling you that would be taking your money for something designed to fail you.

One pack, all three tracks. If you are riding, the motorcycle paper is your supplement and the rest is your exam. If you are going for a truck or bus licence, the same applies in reverse.

What is in the Abu Dhabi pack

609 questions as 13 printable papers - eleven at the real 40-question light-vehicle length, one motorcycle, one truck and bus - each with its own answer section and an explanation for every answer.

It is the same federal bank as the Dubai pack, because the test is the same test. What this edition carries is the Abu Dhabi framing: who issues it, where you sit it, and the ITC steps that come before and after.

What a fail actually costs

Per attempt
AED 200 per attempt
If you fail
The full fee again, with a short cooling-off period before you can rebook. Abu Dhabi runs the same federal format as Dubai but through the Integrated Transport Centre rather than the RTA, so the booking and the queue are different even though the paper is not.

These are original practice questions for study only, written from the public RTA handbook and UAE traffic rules. They are not the official exam questions and Wathim is not affiliated with the RTA, ITC, SRTA or any UAE government body. Test format, question count and pass mark can change and vary by emirate, so always confirm the current requirements with the licensing authority before your real test.

Frequently asked

609 questions, every one with the correct answer, an explanation and the rule it comes from. They are arranged as 13 exam-length papers of 40 questions each, plus a topic-by-topic revision bank for everything left over.

No, and you should be wary of anyone who claims to sell one. Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre does not publish its live bank. These are original practice questions written from the published traffic rules and the standard GCC road signs, which is how every legitimate practice resource works. The format, pass mark and fees are set by Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre and can change - confirm before you book.

The practice tests at /driving-test/uae/abu-dhabi are free, complete and stay that way. The pack is the offline version: one printable document with exam-length papers, a marked answer key you can read away from a screen, a road-sign sheet you can pin up, and a revision bank grouped by topic. If you revise on paper, or you want to work without data, that is what you are paying for.

30 of 40 correct, which is 75%. You get about 30 minutes. Every paper in the pack is marked against that same threshold, so a score in the pack means the same thing as a score in the test.

Pick the language on this page and that is the PDF you get: English, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam. Note that Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre sets the written paper only in English and Arabic. Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam are offered as an interpreter reading the questions aloud in the test centre, so a pack in those languages helps you revise but is not the language you will read on the day. The options available are set by Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre and by your test centre - confirm when you book.

Card checkout is not live yet. Ask for the pack through the contact form or email info@wathim.com and we will send it to you directly, usually the same day. The price is AED 39.

The paper is the same federal format - 40 questions, 30 to pass, 30 minutes. The authority is not. Abu Dhabi licensing runs through the Integrated Transport Centre, Dubai through the RTA, and they are separate files with separate bookings. Passing under one does not carry over to the other.

AED 200 per attempt is the figure most commonly quoted for 2026, matching Dubai. Quoted fees across the UAE range from AED 50 to AED 220 depending on emirate and institute, so confirm with your centre before booking.

Likely yes, because the file sits with the issuing authority. The two systems do not share results. Check with ITC before paying for anything else, because the answer determines whether you are starting again or continuing.

Yes, one paper each, alongside eleven light-vehicle papers. Included rather than sold separately - 70 questions is not worth charging for twice.

Same bank, different use. Free tests are timed and marked on screen; the pack is the whole bank printable with explanations, for revising away from a screen.

No. ITC does not publish its live bank, and anyone selling you 'the real paper' is not telling you the truth. These match the format, pass mark and syllabus, which is what makes them useful.

Format verified June 2026. Fees move faster than formats - treat the AED 200 as indicative and confirm at booking.

Being straight with you

  • We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. Where a case needs one, the pack says so and says at what point.
  • We are not a government authority and have no influence over one. Nothing in here changes a decision that has already been made. It tells you which door the decision came from and what that door accepts.
  • Checking your own status is free. The official portals are linked throughout and they cost nothing. What you are paying for is knowing what to do with the answer, not access to it.
  • GCC fees and thresholds move without notice. Everything here is dated and attributed so you can tell how old it is. Confirm the current figure with the authority before you pay anything.
  • If a figure is wrong, tell us. Send it through and we will check it against the authority and correct the pack. Your download link always serves the current version, so a correction reaches you without you asking.

Where these figures come from

No GCC traffic authority publishes a fee schedule or a question bank you can check, so every number on this page is sourced to where we found it and dated. Where we could not source one, the row says so rather than repeating a figure from a site that cannot source it either.
